King Bolete Boletus edulis is prized as an edible mushroom and is dried and sold on strings in gourmet stores. It flourishes in the summer growing on the ground under trees. It is quite large with a brownish cap and yellowish pores. A closely related species Boletus separans is also edible. [CH] {AU}
