Chicken Mushroom or Sulphur Shelf Laetiporus sulphureus grows in large fleshy overlapping shelves on stumps and trunks of trees. It is said to taste like chicken which gives it one of its common names. If it is harvested from certain species of trees such as Eucalyptus it may cause digestive upsets when eaten. [CH] {AU}
