Red Cushion Hypoxylon
Like all species in this family, Red Cushion Hypoxylon
Hypoxylon fragiforme is greyish-white at first but as
the spores mature its small cushions turn pink and then
brick red. Large numbers of cushions are found all
together growing on dead or dying beech trees.
