Planaria
Planaria are free-living freshwater flatworms. Usually reaching no more than 15mm in length, they are most easily
characterized by their spade shaped head with prominent eyes. Planaria swim with a gentle undulating motion. They
are carnivores and most commonly feed at night. Planaria are commonly used in laboratory experiments as they
have the ability to regenerate lost parts.
