There are approximately 3000 species of tapeworm. These parasitic flatworms range in size from 1mm to 15m in length. Like other flatworms they are bilaterally symmetrical, meaning their bodies are mirrored down the longitudinal axis. The head, or scolex, of the tapeworm has suckers or hooks, allowing the tapeworm to attach firmly to a host. [BM] {EB}
