Tooth Shells
At the anterior (front) end of the tube a foot and head protrude. The foot is used for
digging and is usually buried in the sea bottom. At the posterior end water is admitted for respiration
and waste is expelled. Tooth shells feed on small organisms. There are more than
350 species of tooth shell found in deep marine waters.
