HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Snails

Snails are characterized by their spirally coiled shells. Unlike bivalves, with 2 hinged shells, the snail has a one-piece shell. The snail is also easily distinguished by the muscular foot used in locomotion. Snails slowly glide along on this singular, adhesive foot. This snail, also photographed in Monterey Bay, California, is known as a Purple Ring Top snail. Shown are Jeweled Top Snails. [BM] {RH}
