Slugs
Slugs are closely related to snails, differing in the lack of a shell. Reaching lengths up
to 4 inches, slugs are characterized by their elongated, slimy bodies. Slugs are terrestrial. However, they
are restricted to moist habitat. The diet of slugs, determined by species, includes plants, fungi,
other snails and earthworms. Some slugs cause considerable damage to gardens.
