Portuguese Man O'War
The Portuguese Man O'War (Genus Physalia) has a large balloon-like structure. This gas filled balloon keeps the
Man O'War drifting across at the surface of the water. Long processes, some
50m in length, extend from the balloon, with stinging cells (nematocysts) used to paralyze and ensnare prey.
Found in warm marine waters around the world sometimes in groups of thousands.
