Pacific Gopher Snake

The Pacific Gopher snake has dark brown or black blotches on the forepart of its body. These blotches are highlighted by gray areas. Like the other members of the Colubridae family, the Pacific Gopher snake has a wide head and narrower neck. The eyes are well developed with round pupils. This species is found in dry woodlands, praries and rocky desert. The range of the Pacific gopher snake extends from Oregon through California. [BM] {AS}
