The Glossy snake, named for its smooth silky scales, ranges in size from 66 to 178cm. The skin, which appears quite faded, is soft brown, pink, cream and gray. The blotched pattern runs the whole length of the body. The eyes have verticle pupils and are highlighted by a strong, dark line which runs through the eye to the corner of the jaw.
