Corn Snake
One of the most handsome snakes in North America is the Corn snake. Named for the checkered corn pattern on
its belly, it is more easily distinguished by the orange, red, gray and brown markings running along its
back. Ranging in size from 61 to 183cm, the Corn snake is considered a long snake. This species can be
found in woodlands, grasslands, old barns and other abandoned buildings where there are mice, birds and
rats to feed upon. The Corn snake can be found in the southeastern United States.
