The Western Aquatic Garter snake ranges in length from 46 to 145cm. This highly variable snake may have stripes, spots or colour blotches. Found in lakes, rivers, streams, and marshes this snake is found almost anywhere their are frogs, fishes, larvae, and worms to feed upon. The Western Aquatic Garter snake is most active during daylight hours, but may also be seen in the early evening. This species is found along the western coast from Oregon into Mexico. [BM] {AS}
