This slow and careful lizard has a rather fierce appearence. The Texas alligator lizard ranges in size from 25cm to 51cm and has yellow eyes and a long tail.The back is marked by light and dark crossbands and the underside is mottled white and gray. This species can be found on rocky slopes where there is usually some vegetation. The Texas alligator lizard has a very small range from western Texas into eastern Mexico. [BM] {AS}
