This strongly striped lizard ranges in size from 25cm to 43cm. The scale colours include gray, yellow, and rust. The tail, like the body of a snake, is prehensile to aid in climbing branches. This species of lizard can be found along the southern coast of the United States in grasslands, woodlands or where it is moist with plenty of cover.
