Earless Monitor 2
The largest Earless Monitor ever found
was 43 cm in length, but the average length is probably 33 cm. It has been theorized that this lizard
is the missing link between the lizard and snake family. Evolution theory suggests that snakes arose
from lizards. The Earless Monitor retains similarities with members of the snake family such as the
absence of the external ear, forked tongue and similarities of teeth and skull. All earless monitors have
been found in Borneo.
