Leopard lizards can be found in semi-arid regions where there is an abundance of grasshoppers and smaller lizards to feed upon. Leopard lizards can be spotted darting quickly from under small scrubs in persuit of a meal. Like a cat, the Leopard lizard will return to wait covered by the shade for an unwary prey. This agile lizard can be found from southern Oregon south to Texas and into Mexico.
