Keeled Easless Lizard
This small, slender lizard reaches no more than 13cm in length. They are characterized by their lack or
ears, 2 folds of skin under the throat, and grey to brown skin. The female is generally paler in colour.
This species can easily be spotted on the sandy dunes of San Padre Island, Texas. This beautiful
island holds a wealth of insects for the Keeled Earless lizard to feed upon. Keeled Earless lizards can
also be found in southern Texas and Mexico.
