Chuckwalla
This large, fat bellied lizard ranges in size from 28cm to 42cm in length. This species can
be recognized by the loose folds of skin around the neck and shoulders, wide, blunt tail and yellow and
grey skin colour. Males may also have black and red colours. The Chuckwalla lizard can most easily be spotted
in the early morning when it is basking in the sun. This species will bask until it has reached its
ideal body temperature of 38 degrees celcius. MORE!
