Green anoles range in size from approximately 13cm to 20cm. They are usually green. However, they are able to change to various shades of brown in seconds. The green anole is long and slender. The toes are quite long and have large toe pads. This lizard is a successful climber. Preferring a vertical surface, green anoles can often be found on walls, vines, palm leaves and tall grasses.
