Tuatara

Sorry, No Picture! The Age of the Reptiles flourished from 250 to 70 million years ago. An ancestor of the beak-head reptiles, prominent during that ancient period, is today known as the tuatara. The tuatara looks like a lizard, with a large head, crested spine and olive green scales covering the powerful body. Reaching lengths over 2 ft the tuatara seems tiny in comparison with the 6 ft long beak-heads which became extinct after the Jurassic period. MORE! [BM] {FW}
