This catfish is able to discharge a soft volt to stun prey. Feeding at night the electric catfish remains hidden during the daylight hours. They can reach lengths greater then 3 ft, weighing up to 50 lbs. The electric catfish is found in the rivers and lakes of tropical Africa.
