These carnivorous fish have the amazing ability to travel across strips of dry land by pulling their bodies with strong pectoral fins or by using spines on the breast. All armoured catfish live in South America. The armoured catfish can be separated into 3 different families. The first has 5 species and is known as the thorny catfish.
