Bowfin
The bowfin is a 'living fossil'. It is the last species of a family of fish which began in the Mesozoic age
and had great success 150 million years ago, until it began its slow decline. The bowfin, now found
only in the eastern United States, has a slender, eel-like body, rounded tail, long dorsal fin and
rounded head covered by bony plates. MORE!
