Weever 2
Weever fish have a long body, small head and prominent
eyes. These eyes are located on the upper surface of the head to watch for unsuspecting prey. The
weever fish has mottled colours of yellow, grey and brown. Of the 5 different species, the largest
reaches 1.5 ft. in length. They inhabit the coastal waters of Norway to West Africa and also into the
Mediterranean.
