Spiny Eel
There are some 50 species of spiny eel, most reaching lengths no greater than 38 cm. Although some
have eel shaped bodies they share no characteristics with their name sake. All spiny eels have a row
of spines along their backs that can be quite sharp and painful. They appear in dull colours of brown,
with pale underside. This drab colouring is often over laid by bright, beautiful coloured patterns. MORE!
