Snoek
The snoek fish is related to the snake mackerel. Like the snake mackerel the snoek has a long, slender
body and sharp, fang-like teeth. It has a silvery body with darker fins. Reaching lengths of 4 ft, snoek
inhabit the seas around South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and Chile. Snoek live
independently or in large schools pursing schools of smaller fish such as sardines. Snoek are a very
popular food fish where they are harvested.
