Hake
The hake is not a good fish food, as it is
difficult to store for even short periods of time. The hake has a short dorsal fin, followed by an
extended fin which is mirrored on the underside. Hake are brownish-grey with shiny white under
bellies. They have large scales and sharp teeth. This deep water fish has a hearty appetite for other fish and is known for cannibalism. It is
estimated that the hake consumes some 21% of their own young.
