Flying Gurnard

Sorry, No Picture! The flying gurnard must not be mistaken with the gurnard. Although the flying gurnard, with heavy, box shaped head and large tail fin, resembles the gurnard, the resemblances stop there. The flying gurnard is also not to be mistaken with the flying fish. Although the flying gurnard has extended wing-like pectoral fins, it has only ever been witnessed jumping out of the water, as opposed to gliding, air born as the flying fish is capable of doing.
