Bream
Bream is a Teutonic word which means 'to glitter'. This dark, blue-grey fish has silver sides which
warrant this title. Growing to lengths of 2 ft, the bream is a stocky fish, with compressed body and
small head. It is primarily found in Britain and continental Europe and Asia. This freshwater fish is
a member of the carp family. Although it is a good fish to eat, it is considered unfashionable amongst
most British.
