Bitterling

The bitterling is a small, beautiful fish. Reaching lengths of 8 cm it is normally grey-green in colour with silver underside. The bitterling turns every colour of the rainbow at spawning. The male is particularly beautiful with accents of violet, purple, red and yellow. The bitterling is found in clear streams in Central and Eastern Europe and Asia Minor.
