Bichir 2
A second interesting evolutionary characteristic is the use of 2 pectoral fins. These
fins are used to prop the fish up, like a lizard would use front legs. This fascinating freshwater fish
is just over 2 feet long and has a distinct line of finlets running along its back which can be raised and
lowered. It is long and slender, swimming through an undulation of the body, much like an eel.
