The European eel has a long, slender body and can reach lengths of 5 ft. Found throughout Europe
and North America the eel is a freshwater fish. Eating small animals the eel is known for cannibalism
when the eel population becomes to dense. Eels have smooth, thick skin through which respiration
occurs. Predominantly active at night the eel can be found in the lower reaches of the water. MORE!
