Sorry, No Picture! This voracious eel is a carnivore, eating animals that are already dead and even other congers. Many stories of the conger have been told. They are known to bite off the fingers of unsuspecting fishermen, or congers hidden in rock crevices have clasped an intruding finger within its strong jaws, demanding that fishermen cut off their own finger to avoid being drowned as the tide comes in!
