The zebra mouse is easily distinguished by the light and dark stripes which run along its body. The zebra mouse measures 3.5 to 5 inches in length, with a tail of equal length. Unlike most mice and rats the zebra mouse is active during the day, taking shelter when the night falls in underground burrows. Zebra mice have many predators including cobras, pythons and mongoosees. Zebra mice are found exclusively in Africa. [BM] {FW}
