Water Vole 2

There is no distinction between the head and body region, giving the water vole a rather rounded appearance. The limbs are short and the feet are pale pink in colour. The fur is stiff, long and shiny, varying from a rich auburn colour to blackish-grey. Water voles dig burrows in banks and dykes, diving into the water for a quick escape. Water voles are found throughout Europe, Russia, Siberia, Asia Minor, and parts of the Middle East. [BM] {FW}
