Stick-nest Rat 2
The stick habitations will reach 3 ft in height and
4 ft in width. Secured by large stones the nest is secure in high winds
and in the possible attack of a predator. Within the larger structure are smaller grassy nests. Once
hunted by the Aborigines the primary predators of the stick-nest rat are cave owls. Stick-nest rats
are found in Australia and on the surrounding islands.
