Sewellel
There is a singular species of rodent known as the sewellel. Fossilized forms of very similar
rodents have been found in the Miocene and Pliocene. These fossils which date back 15 and 5
million years ago, respectively, make the sewellel one of the oldest known groups of living
rodents. Reaching lengths of 18 inches, they are characterized by their stout, solid
bodies, bristle-like fur, a short inch long tail, and fairly large feet, each having 5 toes. MORE!
