Porcupine
The most common member of the tree porcupine family is the Canadian porcupine. The Canadian
porcupine reaches approximately 3.5 ft in length, which includes the 1 ft length of the spiked tail.
Porcupines have small heads and large heavy bodies. The legs on the porcupine are short and the
claws are quite long, used primarily for climbing trees. The fur on this rodent is quite long and is
brownish-black in colour, with long white hairs highlighting the coat. MORE!
