Kangaroo Mouse 2
Kangaroo mice closely
resemble jerboa. However, they are smaller in size. The American kangaroo mouse is commonly
referred to as the pygmy kangaroo rat. They are easily characterized by their large hind legs, short
front legs, long tail, large ears and large head. They are lighter in colour than the Australian
kangaroo rat and the bottom of the feet are furred. The kangaroo
mouse from the family Muridae is found in Australia and New Guinea.
