Kangaroo Rat 2
The kangaroo rat has a large internal chamber in the
skull, called the tymphnic bullae, which increases the sensitivity of the ears, allowing the
kangaroo rat incredibly acute hearing. This sensitive hearing coupled with the nocturnal habits of
the kangaroo rat, save this small rodent from being easy prey. Kangaroo rats are found in parts of
North America.
