Jerboa

The jerboa is a small desert rodent which has adapted to meet the harsh demands of the hot and dry environment which it inhabits. Like a miniature kangaroo, the jerboa has short front legs and long hindlegs. Furthermore, the jerboa hops; this mode of locomotion is not uncommon among desert rodents as it conserves energy. The jerboa is also able to conserve water and is nocturnal, avoiding the heat of the day. MORE! [BM] {FW}
