Chimpanzees are apes, not monkeys, as they have no tails. They stand 3 to 5 ft in height, although they rarely walk in an upright position, preferring to walk on all four limbs. Their arms are longer then their legs and their faces are quite oval. Their black fur is course and long, with a distinctive white patch on the rump.
