Quokka live in grasslands that are sheltered by shrubs and trees. These vegetarians feed on grass and their numbers have been greatly threatened through the exploitation of the rabbit population and the ensuing reduction of vegetation. Quokka are marsupials, holding their young in a pouch. Quokka are found in southwest Australia and populate the Rottnest Island reserve.
