Pademelon
This relative of the kangaroo is a small, rabbit-like mammal. There are 4 species of pademelon,
the largest species reaching 2.5 ft in height, with a tail 1.5 ft in length. Like the wallaby, the
pademelon has a heavy, rounded tail, rounded snout, and relatively large ears and eyes. Pademelons
are herbivores; they inhabit grasslands and their numbers have been greatly reduced through the
fateful introduction of rabbits into Australia.
