The kangaroo can be distinguished from the wallaby by its larger size (some reaching 7 ft in height) and larger hind feet. A general rule of thumb suggests that if the hind foot is greater than 10 inches in length it is a kangaroo. Kangaroos are herbivores and feed primarily on grass and roots.
