Dasyure
There are 5 species of dasyure. These carnivorous marsupials reach approximately 3.5 ft in length. The pointed, whisker
covered snout of the dasyure resembles that of a mouse, while the fairly long bushy tail resembles
that of a cat. The legs of the dasyure are short and the eyes are large, a characteristic shared by
most nocturnal animals. The most common species has dark fur marked by
white spots. The dasyure is found in Australia, Tasmania and New Guinea.
