Cottontail
There are approximately 13 species of cottontail rabbit. These small rabbits range in size from 10
to 18 inches in length. They are most easily recognized by the white undersurface of their upturned
tails. They have small, gently rounded ears and busy twitching noses. Cottontails depend on the
buff camouflage of their fur and their motionless stance within vegetation to provide some
security. MORE!
