The colony feeds together, sunbathes together and works as a co-operative unit to guarantee protection. The hyrax has many predators yet despite the slow breeding rate they have managed to keep up their numbers. After a long gestation, totalling 225 days, 2 to 3 young are born to a litter. They reach sexual maturity at the age of 2, but do not live longer than a half dozen years. Hyrax's are predominantly found in Africa. Bach to Hyrax. [BM] {FW}
