Genet 2
The legs of the genet are short, yet this mammal is able to move with
agility and speed over the ground and among the branches. The genet is nocturnal and usually
lives a solitary existence. Little is known about the breeding habits of the genet, although it is
believed that an average of 2 to 3 kittens are born to a litter in the spring. Genets are carnivores as
their diet includes small rodents, insects and birds. Genets are primarily found in Africa.
